The roasted chickpeas in the oven are a great alternative snack to fries. They are definitely less greasy, just as crispy, and also very rich in protein. In addition, this oven-chickpea snack is super easy to prepare and can be varied to taste.
Kirbanzos to the oven – the ingredients of the furnace-roasted aperitif
You often don’t really know what the snacks that you buy in the store contain. Vegans also have to check whether a naturally free snack of animal ingredients is actually free of additives.
That’s why I share this recipe of roasted chickpeas with you, because the baked chickpeas are a vegan and healthy snack that you can prepare super quickly. And you don’t need many ingredients to roast the legumes in the oven.
To roast chickpeas in the oven, you need the following ingredients:
- Garbanzos: use the boat because they are already cooked and save time.
- Olive oil: use a good one, such as extra virgin olive oil (natural and quality), which you can heat at high temperature.
- Species: a good sea salt, or even better a salt mixed with iodine, enhances the flavor. I also used za’atar, a mixture of Lebanese spices.
So you decide how to know your crispy snack and what ingredients are used, no additives.
Preparing Roasted Chickpeas in the Oven – So it is Done
Preparing peas in the oven is really easy and it takes very little time. And since it’s an oven recipe, you can do other things at the same time.
- Just take chickpeas (in tin or home) and dry them very well with a kitchen cloth.
- They then mix in a bowl with oil: olive oil for salted varieties and rapeseed oil for sweet varieties.
- The oiled chickpeas are then introduced into the oven and roast for about 30 minutes.
- The last step is to season and you can now take the chickpeas roasted to the couch for a meal; let them cool a little so that they don’t burn your fingers.
Some spices can release bitter substances during the roast, so it seasons the chickpeas roast only after they leave the oven.
For sweet versions, you can add sugar half the baking time and the legumes will be caramelized wonderfully.

Ingredients
- 400 g Cooked garbanzos
- 2 Sponsored olive oil
- 2 Za’atar spoons
- Salt spoon
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 190 °C heat up and down.
- Squeeze the chickpeas and dry them well.
- Mix chickpeas with oil and spread them into an oven tray. Then they roast in the oven for about 30 – 40 minutes. Mix chickpeas every once in a while.
- Season the chickpeas and serve.
